SCIO,
cure rates & venous insufficiency |

The
study of Sundukova et al. (2000) was dedicated to establishing
cure rates of itraconazole (3 pulses) in several ranges of SCIO.
Their comparison groups were: n=316 with SCIO 3-6; n=156 with
SCIO 6-9; n=112 with SCIO 9-12 and n=58 with SCIO 12-16 and
the last group n=44 with SCIO 16-20, total 685 patients.
The results of treatment in groups were: for groups 1-3 (SCIO
upto 12) -- 94% at 12 month; and for groups 4-5 (SCIO over 12)
-- 76%.
These authors further examined SCIO values in chonic venous
inufficiency and have found that it degree and duration correlate
with SCIO values (higher SCIO in more chronic and severe venous
disease). In group with venous insufficiency, addition of flavonoid
venotonising medication, "dethralex", helped to achieve
cure, with statisticallysignificant difference from those who
had venous disease and not received this drug. |
