Current
projects with SCIO |

Now, several large SCIO-based studies are running in Russia.
One of them is completed: "Onychoindex Project Russia".
This one aimed to evalution of current distribution of SCIO
among onychomycosis patients. During this study (1999-2000),
dermatologists simply filled SCIO questionnaries together
with age/sex data. The works under results of this project
are entering final stage. Number of observed patients in this
project reaches 2500.
Second and most important SCIO based project is "Hotline
Project Russia" 2001+. Hotline project is performed by
All-Russian National Academy of Mycology. It was started on
April 4, 2001 and is planned to be running until fall 2002.
At now more than 60000 subjects were examined. Hotline project
deserves special description and this will be performed, but
here we'll just mention SCIO incorporation into it:
- Epidemiologic factors (age/sex/concurrent disease/source,
etc.) will be examined with reference to SCIO.
- Duration of the disease, presense of tinea pedis, number
of involved nails and other special factors will be measured
vs. SCIO
- Life quality will be examined in correlation with SCIO
Pilot results of hotline project will be ready at spring 2002. |
