SCIO
for comparative trials |
|
|
|
SCIO
was initially created to serve as relative criterion that, if
accepted, will become stratification tool for comparative clinical
trials. For that purpose SCIO is quite a good tool.
It includes 5 different key factors with no need to stratify
by each factor. That means, e.g., that now one can compare efficacy
in fingernails and toenails in one trial. That means that now
the studies may run in a smaller samples. What makes SCIO so
perspective for clinical trials is:
- it offers single numeric criterion for number of
predictors;
- it provides simple stratification of comparison
groups;
- it makes possible small-scaled studies;
- it may be used to measure severity and compare it
with other factors, as reference point.
