What
SCIO may offer |

To
provide a standard, independent guideline for onychomycosis
treatment and a reference tool for clinical trials, we have
proposed Scoring Clinical Index for Onychomycosis (SCIO).
SCIO is a complex assessment tool for onychomycosis where:
- Included are key factors, describing the clinical presentation
and affecting the outcome for onychomycosis treatment
- These factors are arranged in a way where each represents
its proportional share in outcome
- Finally, a range of values is provided with each value
having its corresponding treatment approach
SCIO pretends to be not only a tool to select the treatment
option in onychomycosis but also a reference baseline point
in clinical trials. Now comparison groups may be formed on uniform
SCIO basis. |
