  Second SCIO trial: results
When the 4 groups of patients were compared, the highest ratio of clinical cure was in two groups of pulsed therapy (90,9% or 20/22), counted both for itraconazole and fluconazole. The continuous therapy resulted with clinical cure of 86,3% (19/22), the difference was statistically insignificant.

On this chart first 3 bars are shown for itraconazole, second for fluconazole, third for terbnafine, fourth for ketoconazole. Bars represent
number of patients.

The highest numbers of the cured cases were recorded in the group of pulsed therapy with itraconazole (14). The difference was also insignificant when comparing group 1 (3 cycles of pulsed itraconazole) and group 3 (3 months of continuous therapy with terbinafine).
